March 18: Starbucks Line

There was a funny hashtag at the conference #failedNASPAsessionproposals in which people would joke about session proposals that were submitted (but weren't) that were rejected.  For example, How to survive the Starbucks line at a conference.  The funny (or not so funny) thing about this is the truth in this statement.  Yep, here's a picture of the crazy line.

At lunch I met up with a former colleague from Baylor.  We had lunch at little Italy and I had the best cannoli.  I don't even really like them, but we stumbled into this little place (that apparently serves the best in Baltimore) and it was wonderful!

February 25: Power Outage

I took today off to write, so of course it was fitting that the power went out.  I did, however, feel justified to get an email that 20 other buildings all over campus were also out of power.  Anyway, I headed to Starbucks and worked there from 9:15ish until 7:30pm.

February 8: Saturday @Starbucks

Another Saturday at Starbucks working on this dissertation.  Today I spend a good amount of time writing and reading about constructs, latent variables, and updating parts of chapter 2 and chapter 3.  A reminder email goes out Monday and data collection closes on Friday.  Here is to hoping for another 139 responses.

January 13: Starbucks Goofed

I waited and watched as the barista called name after name, drink after drink.  I stopped listening after awhile and got caught up writing.  A few minutes later, a guy came up with my drink, apologized about forgetting to make it, and then offered me this... a free drink next time.  Woohoo.  Thanks Starbucks.  I wasn't mad about it, it totally happens, but so nice of them to go above and beyond.

January 5: Free Starbucks

Spent most of today working at Starbucks.  I am much more productive when I have few distractions.  Also, it helps when you get a free drink (let's not talk about how much coffee you have to drink in order to get a free reward ;).

October 27: CV

I spent much of the day at Starbucks working on turning my resume into a curriculum vita.  It took far longer than I thought, but luckily some good tunes and a (special & free) pumpkin spice latte accompanied the writing.  Here's to finishing my cover letters next.
