My sister came for a visit in late October, really late October...but just in time to make the last day of Six Flags. She loves roller coasters and there aren't any in the Pacific northwest. If you ask me, that's more reason for her to move closer this direction ;) She flew in on a Saturday, we stayed overnight in Atlanta and went to Six Flags on Sunday.
See it in the background?
We rode the swings, I had never ridden this ride.
After returning home, we did other things around Athens while she was here for a week. One of the fun things was going to the botanical gardens. It was beautiful weather and we had a lovely walk through the area. Isn't she cute?!
Oh yes, it's a plane.
There was a wonderfully smelling tree, we had to find the tag to note which kind it was!
The day before she headed back to PNW, we drove up through the mountains at which time my car (who is almost 11 years old) turned 100k miles :) It was fun, we honked, took pictures, and celebrated! It was also fun to be on a trip up to the mountains with my sister, instead of say, on the way to the grocery store by myself.
On the way home we stopped for Starbucks...yay red cups, they make me so happy!
On Saturday before we headed to the airport, I took my sister around town to experience SEC football and tailgating. She was in for quite the experience. The football stadium seats approximately 90k and they say 20-30k show up just for tailgating. These individuals set up camp, bring out their flat screens, and watch the game from their tents with their alcohol. She was...amazed. She took a video to prove the madness.
People, people, everywhere.
And on the way out of town we found a bulldog in order to continue to the tradition :)
If you don't remember, I'm starting a tradition of taking pictures with bulldogs and friends and family who visit...so come visit and we'll take a picture with a bulldog too!
